The IT department of Kantonsspital Aarau (KSA) needed a powerful new tool for project, portfolio and demand management. The Kantonsspital Aarau received a quickly operational out-of-the-box solution which can be customized flexibly to meet the specific needs of the hospital. The highly advanced technology supports the KSA’s future-oriented program for digital transformation.
A browser-based application, the new PPM tool requires little training. In addition, the cloud solution provides considerable cost advantages compared to traditional solutions based on Microsoft Project Online / Project Server.
As a user, you have the option to customize a considerable part of the tool yourself. We welcome that immensely. It is important to us to be able to evaluate the data ourselves.

Central tool suite for >2000 projects & 1000 project managers
MHP’s tools in the project management area included typical isolated solutions as well as Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. In the new tool suite, all project management processes are centrally accessible. At its core is TPG ProjectPowerPack based on Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse and MS Teams. The TPG PSLink middleware is used for data exchange with other IT systems such as SAP. The productive system was available for use after only six months.
At MHP, the integrated solution enabled employees to work consistently, transparently and without the need to change technology. This applies to all 2000 projects, ranging from projects with few tasks to complex multi-million projects.

The Excel list previously used to manage a large number of IT projects could no longer meet the requirements and was prone to errors. What was needed was a new cloud-based PPM solution that could be expanded on a modular basis. It was to be integrated into the existing Microsoft system landscape. TPG ProjectPowerPack is based on the latest Microsoft technology and thus highly future-proof. The integration of Microsoft Teams allows new users to get started quickly and complete their tasks in a familiar software environment.
Due to a subscription model, the costs remain transparent. Comprehensive reporting improves portfolio control and increases transparency for top management.
I’m always amazed that new project managers can start working with the tool after a short introduction of half an hour to an hour.
